A couple new bead to get the week started.  It is thundering and raining here and pretty dark from the clouds.  Not a fun way to wake up to a Monday.

These beads have a base of royal blue, wrapped in silver leaf and then I applied some of the new glass shards and etched them.  Super cool beads.

Have a good weekend

I received some new glass shards and made some great new focals with them. They all have a base of ivory with some silver foil and the new shards, some twisted and some feathered.

I also have been making some new necklaces.  One is made with wooden beads and the other is made with the new swarovski pearls, "deep brown" and some blue faceted rondelle gemstones. I love those two colors together.

Have a great weekend.  It's date night for Justin & I ~ haven't had a nice sit-down meal with no interruptions for awhile.

necklace

Wanted to show you a fun new necklace I made using one of the new curved focals.  I love making the random, hodge-podge necklaces, but they are not as easy to make as you think they would be.  I think our minds are trained to think patterns and symmetrical, so when we want to do the opposite, it is hard to think that way.

New curved beads

I added a few new AWESOME beads.  I always love the ones with the metallic glass shards.  I think it adds such a unique quality to the beads.  There are a few more posted in the store, I will let you look for those ;)

Sad times

My day got away from me yesterday and I didn't get a chance to post here, not that I really have much to say right now.  I have been working on some jewelry for a local store, some beads to send to a bead store in Nebraska and an upcoming truck show in Cedar Rapids.

Yesterday was kind of a sad day for me.  A lady from our community with 3 children died on Thursday in an auto accident.  I taught school in the morning and it was the first day back to school since the accident.  She had a daughter in 3rd grade and kindergarten and a son in 2nd grade.  Very sad situation.  Then yesterday there was a horrific event in Iowa City.  You can read about it at www.kcrg.com.

Sorry my blog is kind of depressing today.  Hopefully later I can come back and post some new beads and post something a little more uplifting.  Please pray for all these people.

Blues & Greens

As soon as I made these beads I knew I wanted to make a necklace with one.  I love all the blues and greens in the bead.  It has a transparent background, with silver foil and a blend of glass frit.  I love the way the necklace turned out.  I might try submitting it to a magazine.  Speaking of magazines, have you gotten the new Beadstyle for this month yet?  I have an ad in it this month, did you see it?  Have a great weekend!

Not much to post today.  Wanted to show you a necklace I made.  The kids are on a little spring break (which consists of no school today and Friday)  The sun is shining, maybe we can get outside for a little bit.

Last night was the girls spring concert.  It was so fun to see the kids all dressed up, singing their hearts out.  Amerah is so shy, I wasn't sure how she would do up in front of all those people, but she did great.

Here is a new set featuring some decorative nugget beads in pink and brown.

Well, I am off to substitute teach this afternoon.  Have a good one...

Free Bead Today

I am feeling generous today.  Actually I just feel so blessed to be doing what I am doing and for all that I have.  I am always trying to think of ways to share what I have with people who support me and appreciate what I do.  For TODAY ONLY I am giving away a new bead that I made.  Any order today ($20 min order) will get one of these beads.  It has a new color for me that I just love.  So soft and beautiful.  Just add the bead to your shopping cart and use the code pinkblush in the coupon code box. Enjoy...

Happy St. Patty's

One, new, lonely set today.  Made with many different shade of red and orange (I think I used about 6 different shades of glass)  A very fun, bright & festive set.

Last night we had a skating party for our church.  It was a great time and so fun to see everyone ~young and old~ being themselves and having a great time skating.  Jayla won the limbo skate, so she was excited about that.  Amerah had fun with her friend eating candy (she has a candy ring in her mouth) and watching everyone else skate.

New Silver

I got in my shipment of silver.  Many of you have emailed asking about Pendadnt 625, it is now in stock.  As I am sure you are aware, the price of silver is at the highest it has been, so I did have to raise the price $1.  I am keeping the other prices the same, for now.  I also got a new (well not new, I used to have them and sold out) bead to use with 2 strands.  It really adds a nice touch. Then there is a new, larger toggle.  Yesterday I got a new glass and made a new set of "crystal" beads.  Aren't the colors in those bead great.  You could do so much with those bead and pull out so many colors... lime green, bright purple, hot pink, blue, brown, almost anything!!!!

TGIF

What beautiful weather we have been having.  It was so great to let the kids get outside for a little bit yesterday.  I got up into the 50's.  No hats, gloves, scarf's, snowpants, snowboots, etc ~ it was wonderful!!!!

I have a few new focals and a new springy set.  I must say I am not happy with the pictures. Usually I take the pictures, then in photoshop elements I go in and whiten the background and make it a little sharper.  Well, to make a long story short, I updated my operating system to leapord (I have a mac) and leapord is not compatible with photoshop elements 3.  I am waiting for PSE6 to be released for mac which is on March 24.  In the meantime, please bare with me and my photos.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Here are the other 2 pairs of earrings.

New Earrings

Here are a few quick shots of some earrings I made.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE these silver rings.  I bought a necklace that had a lot of those rings in different sizes.  I sawed off some of the rings and then my husband soldered them to close them up.  They are great for earrings and as links for necklaces.  Trying to decide if I should offer them on my website (because I could probably use them all, but have always been taught to share ;)  Let me know if you would be interested.  If there is enough interest, I can sure share with you all. (OK, I can't get all the pictures loaded, Blogger isn't working.  Will try in a bit)

Today is the last day for the bent bead give-away so get your orders in.

No new pictures

What a week...My 4 year old was not quiet feeling herself this weekend with a temp of 103 on Sunday.  She was sleeping alot, complaining her tummy hurt, extremely tired and not eating.  It was really bothering me and I wasn't sure what to do.  I am not one to run to the doctor at the first signs of sickness, would rather have my kids try to fight it off.  On Monday morning when I was trying to decide what to do, I got an email from a lady that was a link to an article from the department of health stating how 20 children in Iowa have died from influenza and gave some symptom's.  I called the doctor right away and low and behold Cana has influenza A.  Our whole family has to be on this medicine because it is highly contagious.  Monday she was so bad so we were really praying for her.  Tuesday she woke up and was almost at 100% normal.  It was amazing!!!!  (I know it wasn't the medicine because she had only had 1 dose)  We'll see how today it.  I am sure many of you are going through some sicknesses as well and we are ALL ready for some nicer weather.

Needless to say I don't have any new pictures of beads.  I have a show this weekend I have been getting ready for.  I also am going to try and get some pictures taken of some bent beads to add to my website.  Have a great Wednesday!!!

Boro Shapes

As you probably know, I love working with boro glass, but I also like working with the shape beads.  I like the way they lay on your wrist and just the uniqueness of the crystals.  So I thought why not try some boro glass in the shape presses.  WOW!!!!  I love the way they turned out.  You can see so much depth and colors.  They turned out great!!!  I have a little set of 3 if you want to try just a couple.
