Bead magazines giveaway

So here's the deal, I have been trying to think of fun ways to give away the magazines.  I have thought a a few clever things to do, but honestly right now I don't have the time and just want to send them out to you.  I want you to enjoy the magazines instead of having them sit here, reminding me that I haven't done anything with them yet.  So the next 3 orders will get one of the magazines along with the beads.  (please don't just order one silver bead or something like that, make it something worth the effort;)  I will post here when they are all spoken for.

I did just add some new boro sets and pandora beads.  Will post those here tomorrow.  

I love this new focal.  It has the  best fall colors, with 4 cubic zirconia's.  It is getting harder to take my pictures outside this time of the year.  I am probably going to have to rig something up for a little photo setup inside.

I also made a bunch of sets in the round shape.  I need to make up a bracelet using some of these.

1st Bead Trends giveaway

Still trying to think of fun ways to give away the Bead Trends magazines.  Tonight I remembered this set of boro beads that I had.  This is what I am going to do...  Right here on the blog in the comments section, "bid" on this set.  The highest bidder will win these beads (plus a few extras I will throw in) and an issue of Bead Trends November 2008.  I am just going to let this go for a day, so tomorrow night (which is Tuesday) I will end it and ship the beads and magazine on Friday.

Back from the show

I am back from my show at Bead Haven.  I had a great time and thanks to all who stopped out.  I don't have anything new to show today and tomorrow I am going to be teaching 5th graders, so nothing new tomorrow either.  Hopefully soon...  Have a great week!

Bead Trends

Look what I got in the mail today!!!!  I have 3 pieces of jewelry in this issue of Bead Trends (November)  Today in the mail I received my jewelry back ( I had to send it in for them to photograph) and 6 issues of the magazine.  I will probably keep 2 copies for myself and give 4 issues away to my wonderful customers.  How should I do it?  I saw the magazine in at Barnes and Noble Saturday night, so I knew that it was out in the stores.  The magazine retails for $17.99, which might be more than what  you would normally spend on a magazine, but it has so many wonderful jewelry designs.  Can't wait to sit down and look through it page by page.

1st the bead pictures.  I got some more of this "veiled" glass that I love, so the other day I made about 5 new curved focal and some lentil sets in different colors.  I will be adding them to the website today.  I love the look of that glass with the glass shards.  The pink is the most bright beautiful pink I have ever worked with.

We had a fun day yesterday at the pumpkin patch and for Lukin's bday.  I haven't edited the pictures yet, but here are a couple.

At the pumpkin patch there is a maze made out of hay bails.  Lukin was running and ran in to the edge of the bail and scratched his face up on the end of the hay.  It looked terrible (although he still is cute ;)  By last night at his party you could barely see the scratches, so I was happy.  I don't think it hurt as bad as it looked.

Lots of new beads

Lots of new beads to add to the website.  I added some of them, but I am not sure I am going to add all of them.  If you see one here that is not on the website just let me know and I can send another picture.

Updating...

Just got done adding some new beads to the website.  I added a few curved beads and some bent beads.  I am so excited to see what comes out of the kiln in the morning (Friday) I think I might have some winners in there.  Not sure when I will get them photographed though.  The next few days are pretty busy, but will try to sneak it in soon.  Have a great Friday and weekend!

More rounds

Wanted to pop in really quick and show you the boro rounds that I made last night.  

Round

I received a new press yesterday that I ordered.  It makes "round" beads.  It seems like these would be a natural, easy shape to make without a press, but they really aren't.  I REALLY like this shape.  I have three different sizes, 10, 12 and 14mm.  These are the 12mm and I think they would be great for earrings.  I made some 14mm beads out of boro last night, so I am excited to get those up on the web site.  I am thinking about ordering another press with a larger size.  Would love to hear your thoughts on this shape.  I added these to the website under the pairs of earrings category.

A couple random pictures

Last week was Homecoming week at school, so the kids had "spirit week" at school.  One day was pajama day.  They were so excited to wear their pj's to school.

Here is a necklace I made with a new curved focal, matching pearls, and some chain from AD adornments.  I love her chain!

A couple new curved beads ~ one for Halloween and one for Christmas.  I am offering them at a discounted price of $18 because they are seasonal.

I am hoping to get some new pictures taken today and post a few new bead sets.  Just wanted to pop in and say "I'm still here!"

Wednesday

It's definitely starting to feel like fall.  I really enjoy this time of the year, although it is a busy time as we all start to think of the holidays.  I have several shows coming up, and will be super busy  getting ready for them all.  My posts might become a little scarce as we get closer to November.

Here are a couple new flowers.  I have about 6 more to get some good photos of.  Last week I made 9 new capped beads.  Some are similar to some that sold out that I "restocked" and some will be new.
