Beads 2010

So excited!!!! (although I can't take too much credit) This new magazine Beads 2010 just came out and some of my beads are in it! These pictures aren't the best, but you can kind of see the article a little. This lovely necklace was created Jess Italia Lincoln using Vintaj findings. It is so rewarding to see what people make with my beads, even more fun when it is in a magazine!!!! Thanks Jess for including some of my beads in your necklace! This is a great magazine by the way, showcasing many new beads and findings.

Springtime

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. We sure did.

Some of you might remember that I had mentioned my fear of having my wisdom teeth out, and you were kind to send me some messages. Well, I am happy to say I made it through! I had it done on Friday and so far everything is going really well. I did cry a little in the chair and will admit was super nervous, maybe even a baby about it. I have had little swelling and really no pain. I wasn't able to sleep at all on Friday after the surgery, or that night. I would close my eyes and my mind would race and think of all sorts of things. On Saturday I was super tired and wondered if it wasn't the pain pills they put me on ~ Vicodin. I stopped taking that and all is well. I am super hungry though and can't wait to eat some food ~ REAL food. My step mother made an awesome meal yesterday and it was hard to not eat it all!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF IT!!! Below are some pictures of the kids dying Easter Eggs and the easter egg hunt at my dad's.

A quick post to show you a necklace I just finished. I used some beads I got over the weekend at Bead Haven and a pmc toggle made by Cris. Love the way it turned out. Will be back later with some sets...

Good times...

Thanks so much for everyone who came to Bead Haven this weekend. Had a great time! It's always so fun there and great to see familiar faces. Would love to see what you guys make with the beads you bought. I didn't get a lot of pictures (and forgot to get one of me) but I did snap a few. The 1st one is a good view of the store and the owner Cindi (she has the long blonde hair), the 2nd one is my little corner of the store with all my beads, the 3rd one is Cris, her assistant Susan ;) (Suzi) and her awesome PMC pieces, and the last two are a couple more of my setup.

I am off to teach for some Kindergarten children on Monday, but hope to have some new beads up soon. Have a great Monday! Looking forward to some warm weather this week. May even hit 80!!! That is not a type-o ~ how fun.

Sorry, this has kind of been a slow week for the ole blog. I am still getting ready for my show this weekend in Cedar Rapids, so not much to be added to the website this week. I did get a new press last week and love this new disks shape. Made a couple sets with some metallic glass.

Also made a new necklace with one of my flower beads. I used Vintaj brass and various matching beads.
