Just got these strung and photographed and wanted to get them on the website right away because I love all the new colors.  Last week I got some new colors of glass and when I was unpacking it these color combinations just fell together and I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

Update on school

Wanted to give a little update on the 1st day of school on Wednesday (scroll down to see pics)  Anyway, I picked Cana up and she was so excited and ran out to me saying she wants to go back again!  She had a great day and the last 2 days have been so much better with no hesitation at all.  I retook a picture AFTER school because she looked so sad in the pictures I took before school.  Here they all are with the 1st day of school under their belt ;) (plus Lukin, he didn't want to be left out)

No new beads today.  I'll be back next week with some new sets.  Have a great weekend!

1st Day of school

I hope this day goes fast, nothing is harder than sending your little girl off to Kindergarten crying :(  Cana was the most excited one to go off to school (the newbie) and it made me so happy that she was eager to go and we would have no problems.  This morning from the time I woke her up until the time Justin dropped her off (I couldn't do it, it was too hard emotionally) she cried.  Gonna have to email the teacher soon to see how she is doing.  I know she will be fine and love it, it's just the wondering...

I am working on getting some beads ready for a week of specials again.  Hope you enjoyed it last time, seems like some of you did.  Anyway, should have them up tonight or tomorrow.

Lots of this and that

I added some items to the website tonight.  Such a hodge podge of beads.  Added some sets, pairs, focals, boro glass, soft glass...  All kinds.  I am off to bed and will post the rest in the morning.

I am updating my website with some new pictures of beads.  I just made a facebook account.  I said I would never do it, but caved to the pressure.  I also think it might be the only way to stay in touch with my sister and niece who are going to college.  Anyone want to be my friend?  How do I link it to my blog?  Any help would be great!  I don't want to be friendless :(

Pray for Kate

I was all ready to put on some pictures of beads, but my heart is hurting for this little girl I don't know.  I came across a blog last week that mentioned this little girl named Kate.  Here is the link to her journal http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mcraekate/journal  I have read a couple pages of the journal written by her parents, and just cry.  I can't imagine going through something like this. I look at my 5 year old little girl who will be starting Kindergarten this year, as Kate should be, and can't imagine what it would be like if she had cancer.  I looked through the pictures of her and just cried and cried.  I am posting this because of the last entry written on her journal page.  They really need prayer and I believe the Lord can heal this little girl.  Please pray for her...

New Technique

So I have started a new hobby ~ like I need another one right?  I have started stamping cards and scrapbooks.  I have been watching some YouTube videos on people making cards and different techniques (very cool, creative videos on there)  Anyway someone was demonstrating using these alcohol inks and how it sticks to nonporous materials.  I wondered how it would look on some beads, so I gave it a try.  I think it turned out pretty cool and can't wait to try some new colors.  I got some purple, yellow, orange and some gold and silver metallic.  Here is the link to the copper/gold beads

I made a set with a set of beads and paired it with some vermeil gold and copper pearls.

I'm back!

We are back from Chicago and what a trip. 

I have lots of photos to get around for you from the trip to beads and jewelry.  The sun is shining, so hopefully later I can get some pictures listed for you.

I just finalized my last show for the fall/winter.  I will be at Galena beads in just a MONTH.  Wow, can't believe it is only a month until September.  Be sure to check out my upcoming shows list.

I decided to hold off on showing what I have been working on.  I want to make a few more examples and don't have time before we leave for Chicago.  I do have some new flower beads to show you though.  I made a few more tonight, so might be able to show those to you as well.  I am working on my fall schedule with all the bead stores and have most of them listed on my website, so check it out if you are local.

Boring Blogger

So sorry for being such a boring blogger this last week.  I do have something new and fun to show, but of course it's cloudy and no sun for a good picture.  We have had such wonderful weather this July.   We are leaving on Thursday to take a little trip to Chicago.  Kind of throwing this trip together at the last minute, but wanted to do something with the kids before school starts on the 26th.  We are going to Shedd's, 6 flags and Chicago Bears Family day training camp on Saturday, plus a few other things.  

Hopefully I can get a picture of what I am working on before I leave.
